Great Decisions programs to start next Monday

The Los Altos Mountain View League of Women Voters, The American Association of University Women and the Los Altos Library will present "Great Decisions" programs from 10 a.m. to noon at the Los Altos Library, 13 S. San Antonio Road, in Los Altos. The first program starts next Monday.

"Great Decision" is sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association, which also prepares a book upon which the discussions are based.

The subjects and presenters are:

Feb. 3, the media: Our role in foreign policy making, with Paul Nyberg.

Feb. 10, Northeast Asia: Crossroads of five powers, with George Koo.

Feb. 24, terrorism and crime: A more dangerous world, with Louise Ginsburg.

March 3, Europe: The future for economic and military integration, with Dr. Colt Blacker.

March 10, environmental threats to stability: Role of population growth, with Laura Tarquinio.

March 17, Middle East: Peace and the changing political order, with Emily Thurber.

March 24, Russia and the U.S.: Growing cooperation, with Jane Bahr.

March 31, Globalization: Workplace winners and losers, with Judy Moss.
