Thomas Kinkade will speak in Los Altos March 28. Thomas Kinkade, a Bay Area artist known as a painter of light, will be the featured speaker at the third annual Los Altos Community Prayer Breakfast March 28, which is Good Friday. In addition to Kinkade, well-known local laywoman Sally Forster, a former teaching leader of the Bible Study Fellowship in Los Altos, will also speak. Kinkade, one of the most popular artists in the world today, will talk about how prayer works in his life and is an inspiration for his work. Not only do collectors snap up Kinkade's original paintings, but Kinkade cards, notes and calendars are mass-produced world wide. In fact, nearly 90 percent of the sympathy letters that have come to the entertainer Bill Cosby upon the death of his son have been Kinkades. At his talk Kinkade will have several of his original paintings, seldom seen in public, on display. They will not be for sale, but to illustrate his message about prayer. The event will be at Hyatt Rickeys in Palo Alto. Reservations are $20 and include breakfast. For more information, call 948-5518. |
