Town Crier Staff Report

The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District and the Community School of Music and Arts held a Feb. 26 reception honoring young artists participating in the third annual, award-winning Kids' Art of Open Space environmental awareness project.

More than 500 children, parents, and teachers attended the reception and enjoyed 700 pieces of art which were drawn, colored, and painted by local elementary school students. The Kids' Art of Open Space fosters environmental awareness among children.

The children's art will be on display this month at five locations within the district's boundaries. Look for Kid's Art at the main libraries in Redwood City, Sunnyvale, Menlo Park, and Mountain View, as well as the Mountain View City Hall.

For more information, call the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District at 691-1200 or the Community School of Music and Arts at 961-0342.
