Town Crier Staff Report

A new access cable TV program called "Decisions" is set to premiere this Sunday at 10 p.m. on Los Altos cable Channel 26.

The purpose of the program is to provide citizens with more information on important decisions in process before the Los Altos City council, local school boards, or the El Camino Hospital District board.

The "Decisions" team feels that while large and complex issues before our local elected representatives are being reported, they are not being analyzed in sufficient depth for public understanding.

The show Sunday night is a case study of the El Camino Hospital District board's decision to return to public ownership last year.

"Decisions" attempts to learn some lessons from this experience that can be applied to all local boards.

"Decisions" gives an overview of the process which led to the de-districting of the hospital in 1992.

King Lear then hosts a panel discussion with El Camino Hospital's CEO, Richard Warren; district board member, Dr. Paul Hoar; former board member, Charles Knell; and League of Women Voters' representative, Shirley Rich.

The show is produced and hosted by King Lear, with Dave Reeder as a co-host.

The director is Roy Lave. The production staff includes local residents Wendy Eiler, Ginny Lear, Karyn Plank, Mark Smallhouse, Emily and Jim Thurber and Peter LaTourette.
