Athlete of the Week

This senior pitcher for Mountain View High's baseball team pitched 5 2/3 innings and gave up one earned run in the Spartans' 5-2 win over Los Altos last week. As of last Thursday, he was 4-1 with a 2.05 earned-run average, 34 strikeouts and only 11 walks.

But Ohara is even more lethal with the bat. Against Los Altos, he went 2 for 3 with a home run and four runs batted in. In league, he sports a .417 average, .833 slugging percentage, has four homers and 17 RBIs.

"Without a doubt, Mark is our best player and one of the top players in the league," said Coach Jim McGuirk.

"He is a legitimate MVP candidate."
