Camino Medical Group officials have announced they have reached an understanding with a real estate investment trust to purchase real estate assets presently owned by the El Camino Hospital District. The assets are being sold in accordance with the settlement agreement reached last Oct. 1. The transaction could be closed by as early as this week.

Diverse outdoor sculptures - Friday reception for artists

Fine arts will get plenty of recognition in Los Altos this weekend with the Rotary Club's Fine Art in the Park show. But another date to keep in mind is this Friday, when Ingrid Jackson MacDonald, owner of Sunbird Gallery in Los Altos, will hold a reception for the winners of the sixth "Outdoor Sculpture on Loan Contest." The reception, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., will be at the gallery, 333 First St., across from Draeger's Market.

More than 800 teens from across the state will debate in a variety of categories, including dramatic interpretation, original oratory, humor, advocacy and team debating. Qualifying rounds for the state competition took place during March at Leland, St. Francis and Saratoga High Schools. Participation in the Speech and Debate Program involves students in countless hours of study and intensive preparation. A practice event for Bellarmine qualifiers will take place in the campus center on April 22. Bellarmine College Preparatory qualified 31 students for the state meet.
