Brian Sullivan of Los Altos Hills was presented with the dean's award at the Woodside Priory School graduation ceremony May 24. The dean's award is given to students who demonstrate outstanding community service. Sullivan also received the Rotary Club award for fine arts, the Bank of America award for drama and the Theology Prize.

Los Altos graduate Cara Vas Dias has been named the first team All-American in water polo. Vas Dias' skills as a goalie helped lead the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas to a third place finish at the Collegiate III National Championships.

Marcos Diaz Gonzalez, an A.F.S. student from Vigo, Spain who attended Los Altos High School in 1989, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University last month with a degree in urban studies. He also received the urban studies dean's award, the Stanford dean's award and the Firestone award.

Carin Dunwoodie of Los Altos was named to the third term Dean's List at Salem-Teikyo University. The list honors students who have completed at least 12 credits in a term with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Shannon C. Birnel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Birnel of Los Altos, has been named to the dean's list at Grinnell College. Birnel is a graduate of Saint Francis High School.
