Downtown window contest

The Los Altos Bar and Grill on Main Street was chosen for best window display in an annual contest sponsored by the Los Altos Village Association. The contest is held in conjunction with the annual Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival, held this past weekend.

This year's theme was "Fit for the Festival," in recognition of the festival's first-ever Women's Fitness Celebration. The event featured a 10K run.

Restaurant staff decorated the front window with a portrait of the festival's theme cat and the slogan, "Fit for Fat Cats."

Lin's Toy Cupboard and Heintzelman's Bookstore on State Street took second and third place, respectively, for their window displays. Lin's featured a teddy bear race in its storefront, while Heintzelman's displayed a mannequin dressed in workout clothes, surrounded by an array of health books.

Judges for this year's window display contest were Ellen Murray of the Village Association, local artist Jeane Kluga and Town Crier editor Bruce Barton.

Each winner received a prize from Something Special
