COACHES CORNER: Los Altos High is searching for a frosh-soph boys water polo coach and junior varsity girls field hockey coach for the fall season. If interested, call Athletic Director Monica Lodge at 960-8857.

FOOTBALL FINALE: Six local high school graduates will showcase their skills in tonight's 23rd annual Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Football Game, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at San Jose State University's Spartan Stadium. The North squad will feature Milo Lewis and Ung Ngo of Mountain View, and Charles Tharp, Greg Smith, Mike Gross and John Powell of St. Francis. Tickets are $8.

HOMERS GALORE: In her two seasons playing softball for San Jose State University, Los Altos High graduate Kara Kanney has belted 10 home runs. In 1995, Kanney played first base on Los Altos' Central Coast Section championship team, and last year earned Gold Glove honors at that position for SJSU.

GOLF SWINGS: Chrysler, in cooperation with the American Junior Golf Association, is awarding 40 $1,000 educational scholarships to America's most deserving junior golfers. Anyone between the ages of 12 and 18 can apply, and they don't have to be a junior golf superstar to win. Golfers should be enthusiastic about the game and plan to attend college. MAKE A RUN FOR IT: It's time to dust off the athletic shoes for the 5th Annual Garden Court Hotel Breakfast Run/Walk, held in support of the Career Action Center.
