The new Friends' Cafe in the Los Altos Library lobby will be closed Aug. 15 through Sept. 2 while the manager is on vacation. After school starts, come in to eat in cool comfort at one of eight small tables in the lobby or outside in the sun by the fountain. The cafe offers food and drinks Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The deadline for the digital art exhibit to be featured in the Los Altos Library has been extended to Aug. 31. The on-line digital art exhibit will be displayed Sept. 8 to Nov. 7.
