Los Altos Senior Center

Thursday: 17-mile drive trip to Carmel. Tour leaves at 8:30 a.m

Monday: Classes start for many of the special programs.

Sept. 12: 1 p.m., movie, "Babe." Free popcorn.

Sept. 19: 1 p.m., movie, "Somewhere In Time" More free popcorn served.

Sept. 23: noon, presentation on "Scams, Fraud, and Crime Prevention for seniors. Cost is $5 per person with a box lunch included. Speaker is Noreen Sorg of the Los Altos Police Department.

Sept. 24: 1 p.m., speaker-author Morgan Van Dyke speaks on how to get startedin writing a novel. Admission is free.

Sept. 26:1 p.m., birthday-bingo free raffle.

Sept 28: Noon, picnic in Shoup Park.

Mountain View Senior Center

The Los Altos Senior Center is located at the Hillview Community Center 97 Hillview Ave., in Los Altos. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information call 948-7483.

The Mountain View Senior Center is located at 266 Escuela Ave., Mountain View. For more information, call 903-6330. Following is a list of special events for the month.

Note: Mountain View Senior Center chess players are looking for some new players to add to the group. All levels of players will be welcomed. Players meet at the game tables in the game room at 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
