Piascik will perform a solo recital at 8 tonight in the Smithwick Theater at Foothill College, 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills. He will be playing drums, piano and guitar. Woman's Club holds meeting today The Federated Woman's Club of Los Altos meets at 11 a.m. today at the Sundance Mining Co. in Palo Alto. Saturday programs at Hidden Villa Hidden Villa Farm of Los Altos Hills begins a series of activities for children ages 6-10 from 10 a.m. to noon beginning this Saturday. The three-week program includes grooming farm animals, exploring the garden on a scavenger hunt and hiking along the trails. Other scheduled events include "Halloween Haunts" on Oct. 24-25 from 6:30-8 p.m., basic basketry on Nov. 8; campfire stories with Anne Rovetta on Nov. 15, and farm tours every Sunday until mid-November at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. For more information, call 949-8653. Hikes along paths in Los Altos Hills Members of the Los Altos Hills Town Pathways committee invites the public from 1-3 p.m. this Sunday for a hike along the town paths. The walk will begin from Los Altos Hills Town Hall (26379 Fremont Road) and will continue on local trails in the area. People of all ages and ability are encouraged to join. Refreshments will be provided following the walk. October lecture series celebrates composers' The Senior Coordinating Council of the Palo Alto area offers a four-week concert series from 2-3:30 p.m. beginning next Tuesday. Los Altos resident Linda Manking will be presenting the programs, from Brahms to Broadway music, which will include instrumentalists and tapes. Cost is $10 for the four events. El Camino offers low-cost mammograms As part of breast cancer awareness month in October, El Camino Hospital offers low-cost mammograms during the week of Oct. 13-17. Children's Chorus begins rehearsals The Cantabile Children's Chorus, part of the Baroque Choral Guild Performing Groups, has begun its fall rehearsals. They are held in Los Altos at Foothills Congregational Church on Orange Avenue. Performances are scheduled in December with the El Camino Youth Symphony, a winter concert in January and a spring concert in May. Cantabile is for children from the first grade and older. Widows and Widowers Association The Mid-Peninsula Widows and Widowers Association meets 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Los Altos Lutheran Church, 460, S. El Monte Ave., Los Altos. Volunteers needed for partners in caring The Stanford University Chaplaincy Office invites volunteers to provide practical and emotional support to community members who are home bound. Town Choir performance set The Town Choir's next performance will be Oct. 25 as part of the Los Altos Town Crier's 50th anniversary celebration.
