Voter information goes online with Smart Voter

The Smart Voter web site with nonpartisan information on candidates in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties is up and running for the November 1997 elections. This regional election web site helps voters understand the candidates' top priorities and the issues in more depth. With the click of a mouse, voters can call up information at any time, day or night.

The Smart Voter web site:

Shows only those elections that pertain to the voter. The user need only type in his or her address.Shows voters their polling place.Links to news coverage by campaign.

This site has been developed by the League of Women Voters and Smart Valley, an affiliate of Joint Venture Silicon Valley. A coalition of groups support the web site, including the California Voters Foundation and the Registrars of Voters of San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties.
