Disc Jockey Robert Emmett and his favorite pirates, Captain Jack and Scully will be hosting the show. The Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose is located at 180 Woz Way, adjacent to the Guadalupe River. KFJC is a non-profit station that offers music and public affairs programming. Box tops for education To help raise extra money for their school, students at Montclaire School in Los Altos are participating in a program with General Mills called Big Box Tops for Education. For every qualifying Genreal Mills cereal box top collected, the school will receive 15 cents, and for every qualifying snack and Yoplait Yogurt multipack product top collected, the school will receive 10 cents. The program will run through March 31. The money collected will be used to purchase computers, software, library books and PE equipment. The school hopes to collect 100,000 box tops. Anyone interested in donating can bring them to the Montclaire School office, 1160 St. Joseph Ave., Los Altos. For more information, call 967-9388. International scholarships All students in grades nine through 12 are invited to apply for the fifth annual EF Ambassador Scholarship which will include an 11-day espenses-paid tour of Europe in July. One qualified student from each state will be awarded a scholarship. The application deadline is Jan. 31, 1998. Parents Involved in Education Holly Swanson will speak on "Emotional Blackmail and the Green Revolution In America" Nov. 20 at the meeting of the Los Altos Chapter of Parents Involved in Education. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 625 Magdalena Ave., Room 620 in Burkhart Hall, Los Altos. Young-Fives preschool openings The "Young-Fives" preschool program has immediate opening for children ages four and a half years old or older. Travel program awarded The Foothill College Travel Careers Program recently received scholarships from two international travel organizations to be used by students enrolled in the college's career program. SKAL Club presented $1,000 to the program and the San Jose Women in Travel awarded the program a $250 per quarter scholarship.
