Pages of the Past

According to the Dec. 6, 1972, edition of the Town Crier, a stone found by Los Altos Hills Historian Florence Fava on the Jesuit land west of Adobe Creek appeared to be a monolith but was identified by Fava as an Ohlone Indian pestle. It was one of several artifacts discovered at the site.

HIGH GRADES: None of the local schools earned Fall Season Scholastic Championship Team Awards, but a few came close. Los Altos High was third among CCS field hockey teams with a grade point average of 3.5155. Los Altos was fourth in girls tennis (3.6636) and volleyball (3.5). St. Francis was fourth in girls water polo (3.4200). Mountain View placed fifth in boys water polo (3.2471).
