Council OKs charter for youth commission

printer friendly version Print this story

The Los Altos City Council approved a charter for the formation of a youth commission at its Nov. 18 meeting.

After reviewing youth commissions in nine other Bay Area cities, the Los altos recreation staff recommended an 11-member student commission from grades seven to 12 who represent a cross section of the student community.

The commission will create a forum for public discussion of teen issues, help with planning teen programs and work with city staff to address teen issues in the community.
