'Great Decisions' series at library

The Los Altos Main Library, League of Women Voters, and American Association of University Women are cosponsoring the "Great Decisions" discussion series, which is scheduled to begin Feb. 2, next year in the Community Room of the main library, 13 S. San Antonio Road.

Great Decisions is also sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association, which prepared a book that is the foundation of the series.

Participants will meet every Monday from 10 a.m. to noon in February and March, with the exception of Feb. 16, in the Community Room.

The topics to be discussed are as follows:

1. Is U.S. foreign policy up for sale?

2. China and the U.S. - what priorities in a changing relationship?

3. Human rights - what role in U.S. policy?

4. Cuba - time to rethink U.S. strategy?

5. Africa today - best of times, worst of times?

6. Financing development - time for a new look?

7. Turkey - energizing regional power or state in crisis?

8. Religion's role in world affairs - challenges for the U.S.

Admission is free.
