Don Elium, co-author with wife Jeanne of the best-selling books, "Raising a Son" and "Raising a Daughter," will discuss their new book, "Raising a Family: Living on Planet Parenthood" 7 p.m., Jan. 14, at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills.

A marriage, family and child counselor, Don Elium introduces "FamilyMind," new formula designed to re-build and maintain the modem family.

By learning a new way of thinking at home, "Raising a Family" may offer hope for families struggling with these issues of not enough time, money, or energy to go around.

With therapeutic know-how and real-life examples, Elium may enable family members to reconnect with one another and as a group.

He said "FamilyMind" focuses on all of the relationships in a family group where everyone's needs are met.

Tickets are $15 each or two for $25. The presentation is part of the Bay Area Parent Speaker Series sponsored by Family Service Mid-Peninsula and Kaiser Permanente.

Proceeds will benefit Family Service Mid-Peninsula programs including the Parental Stress Hotline, TeenLine, and parenting education.

Established in 1950, Family Service Mid-Peninsula, located at 375 Cambridge Ave., in Palo Alto, is a nonprofit organization providing counseling services to more than 19,000 individuals annually.
