AAUW bridge bash to support Tech Trek scholarship

The Los Altos-Mountain View Branch of the American Association of University Women is having a "Benefit Bridge Bash" 1-4:30 p.m., Jan. 24, at the Los Altos Youth Center, 1 N. San Antonio Road.

Members are holding the benefit to raise money for a scholarship for a local seventh or eighth grade girl to go to Tech Trek, the association-sponsored math-science camp at Stanford University, to be held this summer. The "bash" also will support fellowships for graduate degrees for women.

A light buffet lunch and beverages are included, with prizes awarded at 4 p.m.

Another feature this year will be a silent auction, starting at $25, of "interest group theme baskets," such as a wine, bread and cheese basket from the restaurant touring group, or a basket of craft items from the Thursday crafts group.

To make a reservation, send a check for $15 (or $50 for a table of four) to AAUW Bridge Bash, 1535 Vineyard Drive, Los Altos 94024. Please indicate whether you wish to play as a single, with your partner, or as a table of four, and whether you prefer to play duplicate bridge or party bridge, as an independent group at an individual table, or Tripoli or other board games.
