Popular children's entertainer Charlotte Diamond returns to the Bay Area for the 12th year with four concerts Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at Spangenberg Auditorium, at Gunn High School, Arastradero Road at Foothill Expressway, in Palo Alto. Concerts, benefiting the Music For Minors outreach program, are at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. both days.

Diamond will perform favorites such as "Four Hugs A Day" and "Listen to the Water." She will also sing songs from her most recently released album, "Diamonds and Daydreams." This album, her 10th, focuses on families around the world and includes original songs such as "Grandma's Eyes" and "Everyday Angel" as well as standards such as "My Favorite Things" and "Morningtown Ride."

Diamond is an award-winning performer who has traveled extensively in the United States and Canada. She has also had two concert tours in Costa Rica. Her fall 1997 took her to San Jose where she performed before 4,000 parents and children.

Music For Minors is a Los Altos-based, non-profit organization founded in 1975 that trains docents who volunteer their time to teach classroom music to elementary school children. More than 150 docents are currently teaching more than 6,500 children in 56 schools from Burlingame to San Jose to the East Bay. The profits from these concerts are used to maintain the program.
