'Great Decisions' discussion series set to begin Feb. 2

The Los Altos Main Library, League of Women Voters, and American Association of University Women are co-sponsoring the "Great Decisions" discussion series which is scheduled to begin in February at the Community Room of the main library, 13 S. San Antonio Road.

Great Decisions is a series of discussions is also sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association which also prepares the book that is the foundation of the series.

Participants will meet every Monday in February and March, with the exception of Feb. 16, in the Community Room.

The topics to be discussed this year are as follows:

Feb. 2: Is U.S. foreign policy up for sale?

Feb. 9: China and the U.S. - what priorities in a changing relationship?

Feb. 23: Human rights - what role in U.S. policy?

March 2: Cuba - time to rethink U.S. strategy?

March 9: Africa today - best of times, worst of times?

March 16: Financing development - time for a new look?

March 23: Turkey - energizing regional power or state in crisis?

March 30: Religion's role in world affairs - challenges for the U.S.

The public is cordially invited to attend any or all of the eight meetings. There is no admission charge.
