Sister Cities to welcome guests from abroad

Los Altos Sister Cities, Inc. invites the public to its 10th annual party 6-8 p.m., Thursday, in the multipurpose room at Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave., Los Altos.

After attendees enjoy conversation and Chinese food by Chef Chu's Restaurant, president Richard Hasenpflug will usher in new board members and explore the future relationships of current and future sister cities.

Hong Wang and Yang- Qin Zhao of the renowned Melody of China will perform classical Chinese music performed on the violin, drums and hammered dulcimer.

Also on hand will be Olga Vokueva, 28, from Los Altos' Russian sister city, Syktyvkar.

The event is free for current and new members, $10 for non-members. Membership is $15 per person, $25 per family.
