Stutz, a nine-year veteran of the Los Altos Hills Planning Commission and a 10-year volunteer on the town's Pathway Committee, died in her home Dec. 7. The Los Altos Hills Town Council voted to install a teak bench midway along the pathway, with a plaque containing a dedication to Stutz's longtime service to the community. In other action, the council set Feb. 18 as the public hearing date for the housing element, a portion of the town's general plan. Programs to encourage second units to provide potentially affordable housing are the keystone of the proposed housing element. This is the only portion of a municipality's general plan that requires state agency review. The council scheduled its next joint meeting with the Los Altos Hills Planning Commission for Feb. 10. Councilman Bill Siegel and Planning Commissioner Carol Gottlieb were appointed to a General Plan Committee to provide input to the review process for the town's general plan. A review of the circulation component of the general plan is scheduled to begin early this year. Other committee members included Jean Struthers, representing the town Environmental Design Committee, Art Bernstein of the Finance Committee, Les Earnest of the Pathways Committee and Berin Fank of the Safety Committee. The next council meeting is scheduled for 7 tonight at Los Altos Hills Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road. Council meeting agendas are available on the Internet at www.losaltos.com the Monday preceding the meeting. |
