ON BOARD: Sue Kaupp of the Los Altos Golf and Country Club has been named a Peninsula Director on the Women's Golf Association of Northern California Board. Kaupp is the new Junior Girls Director and is also serving on the Open Day Committee and By-Laws Committee. This is her first year on the board.

PLAY BALL: Palo Alto Bobby Sox is accepting sign-ups for the spring season. The league is open to girls ages 5-16 who live in Los Altos, Palo Alto and Menlo Park. SERVING NOTICE: Los Altos, Mountain View and Gunn highs are all seeking boys tennis coaches for the spring. Los Altos and Mountain View each need a frosh-soph coach. Gunn needs a varsity and frosh-soph coach. If interested in the Los Altos job, call athletic director Monica Lodge at 960-8857. RAISE THE FLAG: An unorganized group of otherwise couch potato athletes is looking for similarly out-of-shape adults (ages 22-45) for semi-regular pick-up games of flag football at Egan Intermediate School. WOOD IS GOOD: The Los Altos High varsity baseball team has an urgent need for old wooden bats that will be used for hitting drills. Anyone who can spare a wooden bat is asked to call Los Altos coach Sandy Wihtol at 969-7627. He will arrange to pick them up.

SOCCER PLAYERS WANTED: A girls under-10 Mountain View-Los Altos soccer club is now forming CYSA spring soccer teams for girls born after Aug. 1, 1987. For more information, call Tony Ashton at 961-4289.

GET INTO THE SWING: Women golfers are invited to join the Deep Cliff Monday Ladies Golf Club. The group tees off at 8:30 a.m. every Monday (expect holidays) at Deep Cliff, a par 60 golf course in Cupertino. Maximum score to qualify for membership is 99. For more information, call 323-2798.

HIT THE SLOPES: Sundancer Ski Club, a nonprofit organization based in Santa Clara, is recruiting new members for the 1997-98 ski season. The club serves skiers from the Mid-Peninsula and the South Bay. For more information, call 967-5394.

SPECIAL COACHES NEEDED: Santa Clara County Special Olympics is seeking volunteer coaches for basketball and swimming. There is also a need for people interested in joining the standing committee. For more information, call (408) 267-2734.

LACROSSE ANYONE? The Tomahawks Lacrosse Club is accepting new players in grades 4-12 for junior, junior varsity and varsity squads. The local club team especially needs players in grades 4-6 for a second junior team. Practice starts this month and games are played March-May. No experience is necessary to play. TESTING TIME: Whether you're a triathlete, weekend warrior or armchair athlete, you can take advantage of state-of-the-art fitness testing offered at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. The 45-minute test gauges strength, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, blood pressure, exercising heart rate and percentage of body fat. The test costs $9 for California residents.
