Town Crier Staff Report

The first Circus of the World Children's Music Festival, featuring an afternoon of children's performers, is scheduled for noon to 5 p.m. June 20 at Egan Intermediate School in Los Altos.

The event is cosponsored by Music For Minors, the Los Altos School District and the Los Altos Town Crier.

The festival lineup of performers includes Linda Arnold, Lisa Atkinson and Tim Cain. Other performances will include African drumming, marching bands, and clowns and jugglers. Refreshments also will be available.

Members of Music For Minors, which is organizing the event, note the goal of the festival is to enhance children's enjoyment and appreciation of music.

Music For Minors, headquartered in Los Altos, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to music outreach programs in schools throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara County.

Tickets to the festival are $5 per person, available at Linden Tree Children's Records and Books, 170 State St., Los Altos, or the Los Altos Town Crier, 138 Main St., after March 1.

In conjunction with the festival, elementary school students can enter a Circus of the World Children's Music Festival T-shirt design contest.

Guidelines, entry forms and details of prizes will be available at the Town Crier. Deadline for entry is Feb. 23.
