Deadline nears on T-shirt logo contest for Music For Minors June festival

Members of Music For Minors, an education outreach program for elementary schools, is inviting students in grades K-4 to participate in a "Circus of the World" T-shirt logo design contest.

The winning logo will go on T-shirts for "Circus of the World" children's music festival, set for noon to 5 p.m., June 20, at Egan Intermediate School in Los Altos.

The design must be created solely by a student attending a public or private elementary school. Artwork should reflect music, children and a circus.

Deadline for entering the contest is 5 p.m. Feb. 23. All entries must be postmarked no later than Feb. 21. Entries can be submitted to the Los Altos Town Crier, 138 Main St., Los Altos, Los Altos School District offices at Covington Road or the Music for Minors headquarters, 97 Hillview Ave., Los Altos.

One winning design and two honorable mentions will be chosen by a panel of judges Feb. 27 at the Los Altos Town Crier, one of the festival sponsors.

The winner and two honorable mentions will each be awarded six tickets to the children's music festival. The winner also will receive a $100 gift certificate from Linden Tree Children's Records and Books in Los Altos. Honorable mentions also will receive CDs or tapes packages of the artists performing at the festival.
