The meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, in the Creekside Room of the United Methodist Church, 655 Magdalena Ave., Los Altos. Katsuko, who has taught the art of Japanese flower arranging in the Bay Area for many years, will demonstrate the principles of Ikebana with several arrangements. The public is invited. Adopting children subject of meeting Adopting children internationally will be the subject of a free general orientation meeting set for 7:30 p.m., Monday, at Mountain View Business Center, 465 Fairchild Drive, Suite 215, Mountain View. The meeting is sponsored by Bay Area Adoption Services, an international, nonprofit adoption agency that has placed more than 1,000 children from 47 countries with families in Northern California. Cardiac support group at El Camino The "Heart-to-Heart" cardiac support group is offered free of charge to the community at El Camino Hospital Park Pavilion meeting room K the first and third Wednesday of each month from 4:30-6 p.m. The group is ongoing and open to anyone with heart disease. Chefs Who Care set for Feb. 23 The next Chefs Who Care benefit for the Community Services Agency is 5:30 p.m., Monday, at the Black Forest Restaurant, 376 First St., Los Altos. Half the $24 cost of dinner will be donated to the agency, which serves meals to homeless and low-income individuals and families. The menu will include: sauerbraten, marinated and braised beef; chicken marsala, breast of chicken sautéed in Marsala wine; and fresh sole, served with rice pilaf. Lecture on history of coastal redwoods U.S. Geological Survey research biologist Stephen Viers will present the free public lecture "Natural History of Coastal Redwoods - Fire, Floods and Fog" at 7 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the Palo Alto City Council Chambers, 250 Hamilton Ave., Palo Alto.
