Miramonte School holds visitor's day

Miramonte School is holding its annual Visitor's Day from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for parents of potential kindergarten and first-grade students. The day will include a campus tour followed by a question and answer period.

The Community Advisory Council will discuss student summer opportunities at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at Los Altos High School, Room 206.

Great America hosts job fair

Paramount's Great America will host a job fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Paramount Pavilion to hire park staff for its 1998 season. Candidates should park in the main lot and enter through the front gate. Applicants must be 15 years or older.

The 100-acre theme park is seeking more than 3,000 seasonal associates for all aspects of park operations including admissions, rides, games, food service and guest relations.

NASA celebrates Black History Month

NASA Ames Research Center at Moffet Field is featuring Internet Web chats for children with African-American scientists and engineers describing their contributions to the missions and goals of the agency in honor of Black History month.

Chat sessions will be held with Janis Davis-Street of NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston Tx. from 10 - 11 a.m. tomorrow.

Volunteers needed for stress hotline

Volunteer consultants are needed to staff the Parental Stress Hotline and TeenLine, which provide free, confidential listening and referral services to parents and teenagers. These crisis hotlines are programs of Family Service Mid-Peninsula. Extensive training provided. Application now being accepted for the April, 1998 training session. Call Susan Stone at 326-6576.

Rec department hosts Disneyland teen trip

The City of Los Altos Recreation Department is hosting its sixth annual teen trip to Disneyland for junior high and high school students. The trip includes one day each at Disneyland, Magic Mountain and Universal Studios.

The trip is scheduled for April 15-18 and costs $200 per student. Information and registration packets are available at the Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Avenue, Los Altos. Registration is from 1 to 7 p.m. March 1 to March 3. Last year's trip sold out, so early registration is suggested. For more information, call 941-0950 Ext. 315..

Teen computer lab at Mountain View High

The City of Mountain View in conjunction with Mountain View High School have opened a Macintosh Computer Lab from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday evenings. High school students will have access to a variety of software including word-processing documents as well as having Internet access.

THAT PLACE open Fridays, Saturdays

THAT PLACE, a teen recreation program offered through the Mountain View Recreation Division, is open Friday and Saturday nights from 7-11 p.m. to high school students living in Mountain View and Los Altos.

Teens can listen to live music on Fridays and participate in games and tournaments on Saturdays.
