During the month when women in history are celebrated, the Los Altos Library will present a storytelling and music performance honoring daring and innovated scientists Rachel Carson and Mae C. Jemison at 7 p .m. on March 19 at the library.

Carson was a marine biologist and science writer and Jemison is the first African-American woman astronaut as well as a physician and biomedical engineer.

Lisa Atkinson will sing original music and play her acoustic guitar and Megumi will retell tales of strong, resourceful girls and women.

The free event will be sponsored by Friends of the Los Altos Libraries.
