"It sounds like magic because it is!" said Twila Woods of Los Altos Hills, committee member for the 10th annual "Symphony of Flowers." This annual garden tour is sponsored by the Mid-Peninsula League of the San Francisco Symphony and benefits the Symphony. Mark your calendars for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 24 and 25. Tickets go fast (Last year, it was sold out.) so call 592-4266 for registration and information. Green trees: The Peninsula Children's Center Charter Auxiliary was green with envy and pride as the auxiliary presented a check for $75,000 at their annual luncheon recently held at the Los Altos Golf and Country Club. President and Los Altos resident Judith Bragg was on hand to present this check which was raised from the annual fund-raiser, "Festival of Trees." All of the money goes to support the schools which serve children who are the most severely challenged. Takin' a break: Tell me it ain't so! Linens of Los Altos, a specialty store which has supplied the discriminating and upscale customers fine linens and home accessories for more than 15 years in Los Altos, is going out of business. Owner Shirley Krongard and the "girls" will miss their customers and want to thank all of them for their many years of loyal patronage. They celebrated their last day of business Feb. 26 with a little champagne and were caught "taking a break" in their display bed in the front of the store. Going places: If the pre-party for VIP (Very Important Passengers) held on March 12 at the Autobahn Motors Showroom in Belmont is any indication of the success of the real party, "You'd better make room for this one on your social calendar!" says Lani Rizzo of Los Altos.
