Town Crier Staff Report

Through a new program at Castilleja School in Palo Alto, Los Altos resident Angela Fong and Mountain View resident Elizabeth Yin have been able to get a firsthand glimpse of what it might be like to work on a Motorola computer wafer plant in China.

Fong and Yin are among the 10 students at Castilleja to take part in the school's mentor program, which connects female engineers with students.

The students helped launch the program in February in order learn more about women's careers in engineering. The students chose 10 professional women from Bechtel Corporation, who work in the mechanical, civil, electrical and chemical engineering fields, to act as their mentors via e-mail.
