Ray Piecuch and his 9-year-old American standard horse, Bo, will be guests of honor at Rancho Shopping Center's Sunday information open house on behalf of California Trail Days.

The open house will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at the shopping center, located on the Foothill Expressway at Magdalena and Springer roads in Los Altos.

The event will provide information about activities sponsored by nonprofit organizations the following weekend, in celebration of Earth Day '98.

Representatives of California Trail Days will be joined by members of Christmas in April, the Peninsula Conservation Center Foundation, The Golden Gate National Recreation Area's Site Stewardship Program, Bay Area Action, and others.

Piecuch and Bo just completed a year-long trek from the Atlantic to the Pacific. He will share his experiences of the past year, along with his music and poetry.

In addition to the open house, the Foothill Men's Garden Club will be holding its annual garden club show 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Rancho.
