The commissioners dead-locked on an amendment to the zoning code concerning hotel/motel regulations and have sent that along to the city council without a recommendation. The commissioners gave direction to the applicants to make the building exterior more compatible with a residential look. The Tree Farm project is located at 4434-4444 El Camino Real. "It was a very civil public hearing with people speaking for and against," Mackenzie said. 2nd living unit hearing Thursday The Los Altos Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing during its meeting to consider revisions to the city's second living unit regulations at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Los Altos City Hall Chambers, 1 N. San Antonio Road. "This could affect all single-family properties in Los Altos," said Los Altos senior planner Jim Mackenzie. The Planning Commission will be making a recommendation to the city council, tentatively scheduled for May 12.
