The Premier MidPeninsula Special Riders Horse Show and Play Day will begin at noon, Sunday, at Westwind Barn, 27210 Altamont Road, in Los Altos Hills.

The event, presented by Westwind 4-H Riding for the Handicapped, B.O.K. Ranch at Hidden Villa and the National Center for Equine Facilitated Therapy, will be held in appreciation of the special children and adults in their programs.

Showcased will be the talents of more than 25 local children and adults who are living with physical, cognitive or emotional disabilities. The participants will compete in 14 classes which will be judged on riding ability, abilities of the horse or proficiency at several games.

Organizers said this is an opportunity to witness the inspirational and therapeutic bond that has formed between many of these riders and their four-legged friends.

For information, call Betty Chandik of Westwind 4-H at 965-2698.
