Town Crier Staff Report

Enjoy hiking around scenic Peninsula woodlands and hills while learning colorful local history, when Los Altos resident Nancy Mason leads four Saturday field trips to Coyote Hills Regional Park, Portola Valley Ranch, Folger Estate, Mission San Jose and Angel Island.

These field trips, sponsored by the Palo Alto Adult School, will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 9, 16, 30, and June 6. Orientation will be held 7-9 tonight at Palo Alto High School, 50 Embarcadero Road, Room 711.

Hikers can see the San Francisco Bay from the spot where Portola's hungry expedition saw it in 1769. Those on the trips will also see the fine country homes built by historic figures.

The cost for the field trips is $75. Residents can register by calling 329-3752.
