Town Crier Staff Report

All Los Altos Hills residents are invited to come join the fun when the town holds its 1998 spring greeting family picnic for its residents. This post-Memorial Day event will be held from 2-5 p.m., May 31, at the Los Altos Hills Little League Field on Purissima Road.

Participants are invited to bring their own blankets and picnic lunches. Free refreshments will be available, including beer and soft drinks. Dessert will feature fresh strawberries and ice cream sundaes.

The event will feature a pathway walk, sponsored by the town's pathway committee, that will start 1 p.m. at the playing field. Also planned is a baseball game between residents and town staff. A clown and balloon blower will be on hand to entertain kids and adults who still act like kids.

There also will be games with awards for the kids. For the adults, a drawing will be held for prizes.

Law enforcement representatives will be on hand to answer questions regarding safety issues. Fire department personnel will discuss fire safety and have a fire truck on display for the kids to learn about the basics of firefighting.

Pre-registration for the prize drawing is encouraged since it helps to give the picnic organizers a "head-count." Pre-register by calling Los Altos Town Hall at 941-7222. The deadline is May 15.
