Town Crier Staff Report

Students at Blach Intermediate School are creating a Web site to promote volunteer opportunities for kids, teens, and adults in the Los Altos area. They are researching the area, contacting organizations and creating pages that describe a variety of volunteer jobs to meet the time restrictions and interests of area residents.

To promote the Web site and generate interest in volunteering, students are running a contest for students in grades K-6. Contestants must choose an environmentally helpful activity. The creators of the web site will judge the page for oiginality and usefullness.

The first place winner can choose to receive either a pizza or ice cream party; the second place winner will get the party that first place didn't choose; third place will receive a $15 gift certificate to Super Crown.

The volunteer contest can be reached at
