Space station discussed at forum

The American Institute of aeronautics and Astronauts will sponsor a forum from 7 to 9:30 p.m. June 11 at the Gunn High School Theater Auditorium, 780 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto.

The event will feature a panel of experts from the United States, and from the space agencies in Russia, Europe, Japan and Canada. Admission is free. For more information, call 941-9880.

Service Academy accepting applications

Congressman Tom Campbell is accepting applications for nominations to the United States Air Force Academy, Military Academy and Naval Academy for the Class of 2003.

De Anza registration for summer classes

Registration for De Anza College's summer session will be held from June 22-25 for new and former students. Walk-in registration is June 25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Administration Building. Classes begin June 29.

Teacher registration for Internet Institute

Local K-12 teachers will have an opportunity to sharpen their technology and Internet skills via the Santa Clara County Office of Education's '98-'99 Internet Institute this summer. The first training session will run from July 7-16 and the second from July 21-30. Follow-up training sessions are scheduled for November and February.

Summer school at Bellarmine

Bellarmine College Preparatory is offering a summer school program for students in grades 6-12. Courses, which range from mathematics to high school prep classes, will run from June 16 to July 23. Registration ends Friday.

YWCA Camp has openings

Limited space is still available in the YWCA's World Cooperation Summer Day Camp for kids entering kindergarten through second grade. Weekday activities include swimming, arts, crafts, cooking, drama and storytelling. Camp runs from June 16 to July 20 at the YWCA, 4161 Alma St. in Palo Alto.

Music volunteers needed for schools

Music For Minor needs docents to enrich music programs in local elementary schools during the '98-'99 school year. Volunteers need not be trained musicians. Training classes are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning the week of Sept. 15.

LASD receives grant from LAEF

The Los Altos Education Foundation presented the Los Altos School District with a check for $456,000 April 23. The funds will be used for enrichment programs and educational materials that supplement the district's academic programs.
