Neely had been serving as interim assistant principal since last November to fill the vacancy left by Pat Hyland, who stepped in as interim principal after Tom Baer died just weeks before the start of school. Neely came to Mountain View High as a student teacher in 1991 after earning his master's from Stanford University. He earned his bachelor's degree from Yale University. Neely said it is going to be "hard to leave the classroom. I really love it. It's so exhausting and yet so exhilarating." Neely will officially begin serving as assistant principal July 1. Almond School principal The Los Altos School District Board of Trustees appointed Sue Russ as new principal at Almond School. Russ is currently the principal at Blossom Hill School in the Los Gatos School District. Russ has taught second, fourth and fifth grades. She earned a bachelor's degree from Ball State University in Indiana and a master's degree from Stanford University. -Linda Taaffe |
