Operetta 'Orpheus' comes to Mtn. View

Lyric Theatre is performing "Orpheus in the Underworld" Friday through Sunday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.

Shows begin at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

The little-known Jacques Offenbach operetta contains some surprisingly well-known music, including "Can-Can." The show is being produced by Don Krajewski.

Now completing its 25th year, the Lyric Theatre is a nonprofit organization dedicated to presenting operettas and light opera for audiences throughout the Bay Area.

The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts is located at the corner of Castro and Mercy streets in downtown Mountain View.

Tickets are $20 general admission, $16 for students and seniors. Groups of 10 or more receive special discounts.
