Post 375 drops two games at Western States Classic

Palo Alto American Legion Post 375 was eliminated from the Western States Classic at Diablo Valley College by losing two of its three games last weekend.

Post 375, which includes baseball players from St. Francis, Homestead and Gunn highs, is now 16-4-1 overall. The team travels to Nevada today to play in the Reno Tournament, which runs through Sunday.

Post 375 opened the double-elimination Western States Classic with a 2-1 loss to Lafayette last Wednesday. The Palo Alto club bounced back on Thursday to defeat Tualatin of Oregon 11-7. But Post 375 was sent packing Friday with a 16-4 rout at the hands of Fairfield.

St. Francis grad Grant Feichtmeir led Post 375 with five hits and three doubles in the tourney. Gunn's Tyler Sullivan had three hits on Friday.
