Singer John Carter will share his original songs with children aged 5 and up from 3 to 3:45 p.m. today at the Los Altos Library Program Room. The summer reading club programs will be held on Wednesday afternoons through Aug. 5. For more information, call the Children's Reference Desk at the Los Altos Library at 948-2751.

Sculptor R.J. Truman, who created the bronze statue for the Veterans Memorial in Shoup Park in Los Altos, will present "How to Build a Monument" at the Los Altos Library Program Room at 7 p.m. this Saturday. The program is free and open to the public. Truman's sculpture was dedicated in a ceremony on July 4.
