The Los Altos Chamber of Commerce and the Los Altos Village Association will host the second of three art and antique tours Thursday, July 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The free, self-led tour will feature visits to 10 unique art galleries, antique shops and related stores in Los Altos.

It will also include demonstrations by artists, displays and talks. Each gallery and shop on the tour will be marked with yellow balloons.

"We received a very positive response to the first tour we hosted last month and are excited about providing the public with another opportunity to see the variety of unique art and antique offerings available in this city," said Julie Rose, executive vice president of the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce.

"We once again have some of the top artists, galleries and antique shops featured on the tour and the demonstrations should help generate additional interest in the variety of art that will be featured," Rose said.

Demonstrations include:

Gallery Michael - Peter Garbera, a Hungarian-born artist, will demonstrate the time-tested method of copper plate etching.

Gallery 9 - Demonstrations of Polaroid transfers by Charles Halleck, sketching by Carol Hake and etching by Elaine Rothwell.

Sunbird Gallery - Demonstrations by Joseph Fuchs, local realistic oil painter of the Masked Venetian World of Pulcinella.

Viewpoints Gallery - Debbie Kunic will demonstrate how she prepares miniature animals for bronze sculpture.

William Marcus - Handmade paper demonstrations.

FastFrame - Demonstrations of preservation framing techniques for antiques.

ZYT Galerie will display a special exhibit of original paintings by the world-famous botanical artist Manabu Saito. It will also conduct drawings to win a framed print and book by the artist.

Casa De Belle Cose will display unique and exotic home furnishings, accessories and artifacts from around the world.

One-of-a-Kind will display unique antiques and collectibles.

At Patrician Antiques, owner Patricia Knight will present a talk at 6 p.m. on identifying silver marks.

The third and final tour for this year is scheduled for Aug. 27.
