The Silicon Valley Ambassadors have scored another triumph by clinching the league title and securing home-field advantage in the playoffs.

The team crushed the Northern Arizona Prospectors 6-1 last Friday and defeated the Southern California Chivas 2-1 on Sunday.

By winning these two crucial games, the first-place Ambassadors claimed the Pacific Division title. But more significantly, they will host the first two rounds of the divisional playoffs, which start Aug. 2.

Despite the 2-1 score, the Chivas game was one-sided according to Ambassadors coach Joe Silveira.

"I think we dominated the entire game. We were given many chances that we didn't take advantage of. Eventually we took advantage," Silveira said.

The Ambassadors beat Southern California on two goals by Aman Kebreab and Anthony Chimiente.

The Ambassadors have three remaining games this week.

Today, they face the Stanislaus County Cruisers at Stanislaus. They will entertain the Reno Rattlers in back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday.

As far as the team's philosophy throughout the entire season, "We always look at one game at a time and we never take any team lightly," Silveira said. "In a sport like this, you have to be alert and ready in order to win."
