Lev Landa Mei Phing Lei, Ying Ching Wong, Eddie Lee Wilmin Martono, Ketty Tanizar and Andrew Demas of Foothill College in Los Altos Hills recently placed 7th in the nation for their team score in the National Mathematics Competition sponsored by the American Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges. More than 140 two-year colleges were represented in the competition. Lev and Landa also scored the 7th highest individual score nationally in the same competition.

Fremont high school district gets advice on getting better

Schools nationwide could look to the Fremont Union High School District for strategies to increase student achievement. Fremont was among the three California school districts chosen to partner with the Community Training and Assistance Center over the next three years to improve its educational services. The results from the project will be published and distributed to schools nationwide.
