The awnings won't be Jamba Juice purple. They've been "toned-down" to a "neutral oatmeal color," said David Kornfield, assistant planner with Los Altos, in a staff report. And this Jamba Juice will be an "up-scale version" with a "toned-down color palate" for the downtown area, Kornfield said. At its July 16 meeting, the Los Altos planning commissioners approved, in a 6-1 vote, eight interior and eight exterior seats with a sidewalk-cafe motif. Jeff Warmoth, who voted no, expressed concerns about potential parking problems and traffic congestion, said Larry Tong, Los Altos planning director. The planning commissioners wanted parking issues to be better defined by the city, Tong said. Jamba Juice plans will come to the city council for final approval. MROSD opens Windy Hill parking The Los Altos-based Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, has announced that its new 50-car parking lot serving the lower portion of Windy Hill Open Space Preserve in Portola Valley is open and available for public use. District Board President Betsy Crowder and Portola Valley Councilman Nancy Vian unveiled a new sign designating the lot at a dedication ceremony held on July 15. The parking lot is open every day from dawn until one half-hour after sunset, as are all District open space preserves. The 1,132-acre Windy Hill Open Space Preserve, is a popular destination most often visited from its access points on Skyline Boulevard. . The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, extending from the City of San Carlos to the Town of Los Gatos, is a public agency which has preserved over 42,000 acres of diverse open space and manages 23 open space preserves. - Town Crier Staff Reports |
