The Friends' Cafe in the Los Altos Library lobby reopened under new management on Oct. 1. New manager Rosina Mateo, owner of the Butler's Pantry in Los Altos, will extend the cafe's hours to almost all hours the library is open. New hours will be: Monday - Friday 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The menu will include hot and cold drinks, breads, pastries and biscotti. Proceeds from the Friends' Cafe will be donated to the Los Altos and Woodland libraries to purchase books, videos, furniture and equipment. All purchases are cash only.
