Helen DeCoursey and Margaret Caesar, the experts in the Los Altos Town Crier's classified department, sit behind the counter just inside the front door of the Main Street newspaper office.

These two women have been working together for over 19 years. They first worked together in classifieds at the Peninsula Times Tribune in Palo Alto until the newspaper closed its doors in 1993. At that time, they both came to the Town Crier to set up our Classified Department from scratch. If DeCoursey is not available, then Caesar can answer questions, or vice versa, making everything run like clockwork.

DeCoursey grew up in the Midwest and moved here when her son began college. Her son has since moved to Washington, D.C., but DeCoursey continues to make Sunnyvale her home.

In fact, she has now called this area home for the past 30 years. One hobby she's currently involved in is transcribing and editing the Sunday school lessons on the life of David that were taught at Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto by Bob Roe.

Caesar is a native Californian. She and her husband have lived in the same house in Redwood City for 30 years. Her two sons and daughter also live in the area, which gives her plenty of opportunity to play "Simon Says" with her grandchildren. Caesar is an avid reader, loves to dance, and enjoys going fishing with her husband, although she usually reads while he fishes.
