Calling classic cars for Chamber's fall show

The Los Altos Chamber of Commerce is seeking classic cars - built in 1969 or earlier - for display at its annual Classic Car Show. This year the event will be held Oct. 3-4 in the South Parking Plaza between First and Second streets in downtown Los Altos.

The show will feature 40-50 cars each day, according to event coordinator Roger Stroud. The People's Choice Award will be made on Oct. 4.

This year the Chamber will be conducting a drawing for a 1998 Volkswagen Bug. Stroud said show organizers are looking for a few classic Bugs to display with the new model.

The show also provides an opportunity to exhibit pre-1976 cars for sale. There is a $20 fee for exhibiting "for sale" autos, Stroud said.

For information on how to enter your classic auto in the Classic Car Show, call the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce at 948-1455. There is a $5 donation entry fee. The deadline for entry is Sept. 21.
