The ninth annual Los Altos Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament took place Aug. 17, with 144 golfers playing at the Los Altos Golf and Country Club.

First-place honors in the scramble format went to the golf team of Steve Hunton, Roland Strick, Hank Bataille and Dan Sanchez. Mel Kahn and Bob Adams captured top honors in the two-person best ball category. Terry Davis won the Closest to the Pin contest while the Longest Drive prizes went to Walt Joyce and Boon Ko. The chipping contest was won by Joe Stasi, while Emmett Casey claimed the putting contest.

New to the tournament this year was a silent auction held during a reception on the clubhouse patio following the tournament.

Funds raised by this event will be used to support chamber and community programs.

"This is the third straight year that we have had an early sell-out for this great event and we owe a special thanks to our generous sponsors who all helped make this event such an outstanding success," said Steve Anderson, golf tournament chairman.

Bank of Los Altos was the tournament's major corporate sponsor, along with three hosting corporate sponsors: Armadillo Willy's, Chef Chu's and Le Boulanger.
